DMCC was established in 2002 by the Government of Dubai as a strategic initiative to promote commodity trade flows through Dubai.

Strategically located at the heart of new Dubai in the southern end of the city, DMCC is the master developer of Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) communities and the upcoming Uptown District. These act as a gateway to south Dubai and beyond to Abu Dhabi. The district benefits from easy access to Sheikh Zayed Road, Expo City Dubai, the biggest port in the Middle East in Jebel Ali, and Al Maktoum International Airport and Dubai International Airport, so that residents, businesses and visitors can enjoy direct connectivity with the rest of Dubai and the world.
